FISW Summer Fete highlights school's diversity
Posted 14/06/2012 09:43

FISW's annual Summer Fete and first-ever Fun Run was a huge success among the school's international community.

Families gathered on the Wiesbaden Campus on Sunday 10 June for the school's biggest fundraiser of the year. In a twist on the popular event, organizers introduced the first-ever campus Fun Run, which kicked off an hour before the main event.

With the sun shining down on FISW and the surrounding fields, a sea of white t-shirt-clad runners, walkers and joggers set out along the 2.5km/5km route, while back on campus volunteers were in a flurry of activity getting everything set up.

The international theme of this year's event could be seen everywhere. From the painted hot air balloons on the entrance, to country flags, cultural dishes and the mix of languages being spoken, the Summer Fete had it all.

Entertainment was also a success at the event and children squealed in delight as they threw wet sponges at their teachers while intense soccer matches took place on the Sports field. Music played in the background as parents visited with one another while enjoying great food and an exciting auction.  All in all it was a perfect afternoon of family fun.

The FISW PTG would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all those that helped out in any way and all that attended. Summer Fete could not be such a success without the strong FISW community spirit.
