In a moving ceremony, the Class of 2012 collected their diplomas to mark their final hurdle before embarking on new challenges beyond the halls of FIS.
“Don’t worry, it’s all going to be ok” was the message delivered by this year’s faculty speaker, Celia Nater, who taught a large number of the graduates in the IB Business & Management course. As the Class of 2012 prepares to leave home and head out into the wider world, Nader's message appeared to put some minds to rest!
Students also spoke during the event, but the official keynote address was delivered by Oliver Reese, the Director of the Theater Frankfurt. Words of wisdom were complemented by a number of extraordinary student performances, including a surprise screening of the "2012 Overture" performed by the self-titled 2012 Senior Orchestra.
After awards of distinction were bestowed upon six students and the ceremony ended, graduates grasped their well-deserved diplomas and beaming with pride, exited the Stadthalle to the sound of Queen’s I Want to Break Free, a fitting soundtrack for the class whose senior sweatshirts were designed to look like jail uniforms.
