REAL (Recreation, Enrichment and Learning)
At FIS and ISW the school day doesn’t end with the last class.
Our REAL program of comprehensive after school activities provides students, parents, and faculty with the opportunity to spend time in a relaxed environment teaching and learning new skills beyond the classroom curriculum. It also gives students the opportunity to work and build friendships with students from many backgrounds and grades.
After school activities start in September, and are offered in three terms throughout the year. What sets our after school activities apart from others?
Flexibility
Accommodations at FIS are available to allow students to participate in after school activities, while remaining in a supervised environment.
- The Kids Club is an extended day program that offers childcare for students up to Grade 5 who wish to participate in an activity that starts at 16:15.
- A late bus that leaves at 17:20 allow students to participate in activities and still have the convenience of taking the bus home. Please note that the late bus service is only available to areas that are difficult to reach by public transportation. For further details, please contact Annette Schlosser at 06171-2024-466.
Activities for Adults and Students
In addition to the after school activities, there are a variety of classes during the day for adults. While classes vary from session to session, examples of current classes are German and Mandarin language classes, fiction writing classes, and several physical fitness classes. For students, the Kids Club provides supervised childcare after school and before activities start.
Weekend Activities for Families
In addition to the after school activities, there are several weekend activities geared to the whole family. Hiking, biking and cooking are just a few of the fun activities to participate in together as a family.

Interested in dance? Great! Come to Studio 186 on Thursdays from 15:30 to 17:00, and dance, dance, dance - for FREE! Wear clothes that are easy to move in and come ready to move.
Classes begin Thursday, 27 August, and will continue each Thursday throughout the year. Choreography will begin straight away for our Zeitgeist performances.
