FIS Oberursel
a place to thrive
Located at the base of the Taunus mountains, the main campus in Oberursel is a place where any parent would want their children to grow and learn. Our expansive campus, which resembles a small university, features state-of-the-art facilities and is surrounded by forest.
Located just 23 kilometers from Frankfurt's city center and well-connected with public transportation, the FIS Oberursel campus boasts three distinct divisions – the Primary School, with classes from age 3 through Grade 1, the Elementary School starting with Grades 2 to 5, and the Upper School, which houses the Middle and High School. The Primary School is located at the top end of the campus and is separated from the Elementary School and Upper School by two full-size athletic fields and a nature sanctuary.
Learn About the FIS Oberursel Campus
The Primary School is a purpose-built facility for young children with outdoor play areas, a library, gymnasium, and cafeteria – all surrounded by lush forests and hiking trails. Serving more than 240 students from age 3 (First Steps) through Grade 1, the early years program at FIS helps lay the foundation for a successful educational journey – and a love for lifelong learning.
The Elementary School, consisting of approximately 450 students in Grades 2–5, sits adjacent to the Upper School. While Elementary School students share some of the same facilities as the Upper School, including the cafeteria, gym, and theater space, the multiple age-appropriate playgrounds, outdoor learning spaces and a separate library, allow these younger children to enjoy their own "school within a school."
The Middle and High School, combined into the Upper School (Grades 6–12), provides students with a rich and demanding college preparatory program, as well as extra-curricular activities and athletics, organized clubs and service projects that often lead to travel and exchanges in other parts of Europe and beyond. Success in the FIS Upper School leads to further educational opportunities as students gain admission to the world’s top colleges and universities with the support of FIS college counselors.
