Girl writing in the grass

At the Primary and Elementary School on both the Oberursel and Wiesbaden campus, our inquiry-driven approach to teaching and learning is anchored in the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). Concepts, skills, attitudes and action are essential components, and students are exposed to traditional subjects and concepts.

Foundational numeracy and literacy skills are taught in traditional classroom settings at the Primary School, and students are also exposed to learning concepts through play and outdoor education. Students transition to the Elementary School in Grade 2 where the emphasis on STEM subjects continues to broaden their critical thinking and collaboration skills, and by Grade 5, students are well-equipped to move into the Middle School (Grades 6-8).

Your Child's School Day
Each child in the Primary and Elementary School is a member of a homeroom, a place where they develop strong relationships with our dedicated teachers and their classmates, and where they contribute to creating a community of belonging and learning.

In addition to homeroom class time, daily outdoor play and lunch, students also engage in learning with highly qualified specialist teachers for music, art, physical education and German.
