Middle School
a place to gain new perspectives
At FIS, our Middle School students benefit from a supportive environment in which to learn and grow during their developmental years. Whether relocating from another country or moving from up our Elementary School, they will have experiences to create long-lasting relationships – and opportunities to discover themselves.
In Grades 6 to 8 on both the Oberursel and Wiesbaden campus, the curriculum helps bridge the transition from the International Baccalaureate's Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) to prepare them with the skills needed for success in the rigorous IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) in Grades 11 and 12.
Welcome to the Middle School
Middle School is a time of intense intellectual, emotional, and physical development. In addition to challenging our students to achieve their best, we also want them to enjoy learning. Students on both campuses have options for leadership opportunities, self-expression and growth through a variety of team sports, student organizations, service groups, the arts, and grade-level trip weeks to destinations from Barcelona to Berlin. They also benefit from outstanding resources: libraries, fully-equipped science labs, design and technology spaces, performing arts auditoriums, music and art studios, and athletic facilities. At the heart of the Middle School we provide a well-developed program of academic and personal support through our counselors, homeroom teachers and year heads who help students navigate the Middle School in preparation for their eventual success in Grades 9-12.
