Primary School
a place to build a strong foundation
By nature, young children are curious. As they discover and experience new things, our experienced early years teachers help them make connections to the world around them, exploring real-world concepts and then taking action. Through this process, students are able to grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially, while at the same time, establishing a solid foundation for lifelong learning.
In our Primary School (Age 3-Grade1), on both the Oberursel and Wiesbaden campuses, learning happens largely through play. Children are challenged and supported at their own stage of development so they may grow to be competent individuals who exercise their voice, demonstrate agency, and take ownership of their learning, while being respectful to others.
Welcome to the Primary School
Anchored in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP), children in the Primary School acquire and apply skills that are relevant to all subject areas and valuable for learning that goes on both in the classroom and in life outside the school.
Each child in the Primary School is a member of a homeroom, where they develop strong relationships with our dedicated teachers and their classmates, and where they contribute to creating a community of belonging and learning. In addition to homeroom time when they engage with key subjects such as math, language arts, science, and social studies, students also have PE, art, music, and German classes with highly-qualified specialist teachers. Children have lunch in the cafeteria and at least two outdoors recess times each day.
BE curious.
