Giving Back
Founded in 1961 as a not-for-profit organization, FIS has educated thousands of students with integrity and excellence over the last 60 years. As Alumni, you are at the very heart of our story. There are many ways to give and continue that legacy; by supporting FIS through volunteer time, leadership and gifting, you can honor your education by helping us support our current and future students in our commitment to provide the very best “World of Opportunities."
FIS Annual Fund
For a decade now, the FIS Annual Fund has been the philanthropic voice of FIS. Donations are outside of the operating budget and provide the school with additional funds to invest directly in compassion and innovation initiatives, ensuring an education of the highest standard and a community that is stronger together.
The Fund contributes to unique projects that enrich learning, encourage innovation and support the well-being of our community. All offer meaningful opportunities for growth, reflection and balance across our two campuses. Most importantly, through the Annual Fund, our Tuition Reduction Program (TRP) offers a life-line to members of our parent community who are experiencing unexpected financial hardship, impacting their student’s ability to remain enrolled at school. Need-based scholarships through the TRP not only enable those students to remain at school, but encourage and enrich economic diversity through the admittance of new students who could otherwise not afford a FIS education.
Over the years, our Annual Fund with donations from alumni have sponsored, amongst others:
State-of-the-art scientific and learning technology, specialist athletic, music and performing arts equipment, the annual George Henning Ross Writing Award, competition entry and participation in educational forums, inspirational speakers and support of our service groups. These are in addition to the many grateful families who have benefited from the TRP.
Annual Fund donations are tax-deductible, can be made in Euros and Dollars ( through our FIS Foundation USA) via credit card or bank transfer. Every donation, regardless of size, has a positive impact on the lives and learning within our community.
Please join others in making a gift to the Annual Fund to support our students today - and into the future.
FIS Alumni Tree
As a dedicated space honoring the legacy of our vibrant Alumni community, our Alumni Courtyard is a space for all our community to use. Enjoyed by students as a gathering place for studying and socializing, the space is defined by our ever growing Alumni Tree. Join six decades of graduates and Alumni faculty by purchasing a stainless-steel leaf engraved with your name and class and commemorate your time at FIS.
Careers Day
FIS careers day for our Grade 10 and 11 students is the very first opportunity our students have to engage with professionals and learn about a variety of careers. Ahead of making their IB and university choices, our students deeply appreciate the chance to interact with the many alumni who chose to give back by sharing their professional experience. If you would like to share your career path with our students, please let us know.
Internships
How formative was your first career experience? What students learn in their first introduction to the working world very often lays the foundation for what comes next. Internships offer young students confidence boosting hands on experience, the chance to build up their resumes and the start of their own professional network. If you have internship possibilities for young alumni within your company, wherever you are in the world, we would be grateful for the opportunity to talk to you.
Class Representative
Class representatives serve as valuable liaisons between Alumni and FIS and foster connections by sharing news and updates with their class year. If you would like to serve as a class rep, please contact let us know.
