a place to become a leader

Students ready to hike with Duke of Edinburgh

Beyond the classroom, Middle and High School students have opportunities to participate in a wide variety of student-run organizations that promote leadership and community involvement.

Through organizations such as Model United Nations (MUN), Scouts, the Debate Club, or Student Athletic Council (SAC), students have opportunities to make friends while exploring new interests, pushing boundaries, taking a leadership role, or honing new skills. Our groups meet after school and each have a faculty or staff advisor. If students are interested in starting their own club or organization, we are always excited to welcome new groups to the mix.

Service learning is an integral part of the program at FIS. In addition to the many student groups and clubs students can be a part of, Upper School students can also work to support both the local community and those around the globe through a variety of service learning opportunities.
