Working at FIS
Join our family
Our mission to be a "family-oriented school" refers not only to our enrolled families, but to our family of faculty and staff. Between our two campuses in Oberursel and Wiesbaden, we have approximately 230 faculty representing 30 nationalities.
We are a school where exceptional teachers inspire students to reach their full potential. To accomplish this, we begin by selectively recruiting experienced faculty with a history of motivating and challenging students. Our faculty use the most current teaching practices and tools in an environment where students' individual needs are paramount. Results of student performance, which are published each year, make it clear that the reputation of FIS is based not on lofty aspirations, but on hard evidence that grows stronger with each passing year.
FIS is committed to the ongoing professional development of our faculty members. The school frequently invites experts in the field of education to our campuses for on-site seminars, and also encourages faculty to take advantage of conferences around the globe.
Our Mission
Our mission is to be the leading, culturally diverse and family-oriented international school with English as the principal language of instruction. We inspire individuals to develop their intellect, creativity and character to become independent, adaptable, socially responsible and internationally minded citizens, by ensuring a dynamic, inquiry-driven education of the highest standard.
Our Strategic Impacts
We are family-oriented
At FIS we take our mission to be a family-oriented school seriously, and strive to create a place where a meaningful partnership of mutual support exists. The richness of FIS is grounded in the way we communicate with our families and actively involve them in our learning community. Many of our families have traveled far from their countries of origin and we have made it our mission to create a new home for them at FIS.
We are committed to excellence
Our experienced teachers are focused on preparing students to be successful in an ever-changing world, whether it's learning to play a stringed instrument in Primary School, exploring new worlds through Virtual Reality in Elementary School, or starring as a lead in an Upper School drama performance.
We hold our school to the highest standards, knowing that many of our students, who come from over 60 nations, will leave FIS and continue onward to other top-ranked schools around the globe. We are proud of our school’s reputation and long history as a high-achieving IB school.
