Parent Presentation: "Talking with Younger Children about Sex: When and How?"
FIS/FISW parents are invited to a special presentation with award-winning educator, trainer, program consultant and author, Dr. Elizabeth Schroeder, entitled: "Talking with Younger Children about Sex: When and How?" Parents often think if their younger children do not ask questions about sexuality, their children are not ready to talk about it. The opposite is actually true. Children are receiving many messages from the world around them from the time they are very young - about sexuality, gender, relationships and much more. Parents need to speak with their younger children - but how? This presentation will offer tangible information about what talking about "sex" means for younger children, and suggestions and resources parents can use at home. Although this session focuses on elementary school-aged children, all parents are welcome.
