The weekend of 8-11 November was an exciting one for FIS Warrior athletes who once again demonstrated their unrivaled sportsmanship during end-of-season tournaments throughout Europe. Frankfurt International School welcomed more than 100 visiting athletes for the Boys Division 1 ISST Soccer Championship, and both fields featured high-energy matches throughout the weekend.
Despite the cold and wet weather, spectators lined the sidelines to watch FIS battle some of the strongest teams in the division – including ACS Cobham, which FIS beat in a nail-biting shootout – while others joined in via live-stream from around the world; the FIS student media group reported their live streams had more than 8,000 views during the three-day event!
Elsewhere around Europe, Warrior athletes put their opponents to the test, racking up wins across the field with numerous second and third place finishes – as well as a championship trophy for the Grade 6-8 Boys Tennis team in Zurich. Full results from end-of-season tournaments have been posted to the Athletics page. Congratulations to all!
A big thank you to our student athletes for their dedication throughout the season, and to our friends and family who have been equally dedicated in housing visiting athletes, keeping spectators sated at the Athletic Booster Club's concession stand, and providing support from the sidelines for all of our student athletes.
