Upper School, Adult, Alumni and FIS Community

The activities program for our Upper School students, parents, alumni and the greater FIS community expands beyond the REAL program.

For our Upper School students the REAL Activities Program offers yet another opportunity for students to explore their interest on a more recreational level. Courses offered within the REAL program meet once a week for roughly a hour. This tends to be a lighter commitment and allows students more flexibility to balance their schedule while still being involved in FIS activities.

For our parents and FIS community, we offer a number of adult classes, workshops, "open gym" nights and a variety of of other activities. Please see below for current offerings throughout the week.

Upper School Athletics

Frankfurt International School offers competitive athletic opportunities to as many students as possible, striving for broad participation and competitive excellence, while encouraging the highest levels of sportsmanship and fair play.

Our school has enjoyed many years of success in a wide variety of sports and boasts a fine reputation across Europe for its athletic program. We recognize the values students gain from participation in a well-organized, high quality athletic program, and are dedicated to excellence in this pursuit. FIS believes that the welfare of the student-athlete is our prime concern – physically, academically and emotionally.

We also pride ourselves on our reputation for not only challenging our athletes to be the best, but by also developing their social responsibilities and nurturing true ambassadors of sportsmanship.

Upper School Clubs

Clubs are student-led initiatives, run by staff who are passionate about student-centered interests, or groups of students with common interests. Clubs take place both during the school day and outside of school hours. For a look at the Upper School's clubs, click here.

What is the difference between a club and a REAL activity class?

REAL activities are paid programs and typically run between 15:00 and 17:00. Clubs are generally free or at a minimal cost and usually take place during the school day.
